Are you a Smart Girl? This past week, I had the opportunity to travel to New York City and attend the Smart Girls Conference. So I packed my bags and made my way to the city that never sleeps. It was my first time in the city without parents directing me, and I loved every minute of it. I could just tell a part of me belonged here.
In one word, the conference was inspiring. From the panelists to the attendees to the staff, I felt ready to take on the world by the time the conference was over. I was absolutely amazed at all the Smart Girl sisters have done. It was so great to get to know them and hear their smart story.
Smart Girls Group is dedicated to uniting the next generation of superstar women. It was actually started when founder, Emily Raleigh, wrote a book for her little sister. This idea grew into the Smart Girls Group. Just like your sorority, Smart Girls Group is an unique sisterhood environment where girls can come together and share their talents. I got the chance to meet Emily and chat with her, and she’s one of the sweetest girls ever! To learn how to get involved, you can go to thesmartgirlsgroup.com
I also found two other sorority girls at the conference who were there to speak about their blogging success! Those two ladies are none other than Mackenzie Horan from Design Darling and Molly Ford from Smart, Pretty, and Awkward. They shared their story with us and their best blogging advice. I learned a lot from them that I’m excited to share with you! There’s so much to say it definitely needs its own post. Let me know if you have any questions for them!
I spent two days at the conference where I got to network and attend career panels and workshops , then had an extra day for the Smart Girls excursion. On this day, we toured Teen Vogue, Rockefeller Center, and Kenneth Cole headquarters. Amazing doesn’t even begin to cover this day. This definitely needs its own post!
The conference ranged from topics including “How to Achieve Your Dreams by 30”, “Trailblazing in the Media”, and “Women in Business”. The speakers were amazing and gave great insight to those pursuing careers (everyone in the room!!)- it was so nice to hear someone else’s story and their advice to success.
A-Listers, you have a lot to look forward to! In the meantime, check out Smart Girls Group and get involved on your campus! You can read their magazine, attend Smart Girls School, and join the sisterhood! Best part- it’s free! Not to mention it looks great on resumes and the Smart Girls network is amazing! Don’t forget to go to their website and view the conference there! It’s a great start to your Smart Girls career!!
See you next time, A-Listers!! If you have any questions, feel free to comment them below! Have a fab day!
