Our AI Image Policy
A quick note on something we want to be straight about: some images on this site used to be generated by AI tools (DALL-E, Midjourney, similar), back before our internal policy changed. As of August 2026 we have removed every one of them. The site no longer contains any AI-generated imagery. Here is the full picture.
Our policy
As of June 13, 2026, we no longer use AI-generated imagery for any product, editorial, or illustrative visual on alistgreek.com. The full policy lives in our internal image-sourcing workflow. The short version:
- Product photography comes from our affiliate partners (licensed) or from real product shots.
- Lifestyle and editorial imagery comes from real photographers via Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, or our own photo shoots.
- Brand-provided imagery from sorority-niche brands runs with attribution.
- AI-generated imagery is not used. Period.
What about the older images
A portion of the images once on this site were generated with AI tools between July and September of 2023, when AI imagery was treated as a quick fill for hero and feature slots. None of those images depicted a real person, a real product, or a real place in a way that would mislead a reader about a factual claim — they were stylized illustrations. But the practice did not match where we are now.
That sweep is finished. We worked through every legacy AI image on the site and replaced each one with real photography from a licensed source — including our own founder’s photography. We re-checked the entire library to confirm it: no AI-generated images remain, in hero slots or inline.
Why this matters
A few reasons:
- The FTC takes a serious line on imagery that could mislead a consumer about a real product, person, or place. We hold ourselves to that line whether or not a specific rule applies to us yet.
- The EU AI Act adds disclosure obligations on AI imagery starting August 2026 for any publisher with EU readers. We have some.
- Platforms like Pinterest and Google now flag AI-generated content. Real photography ranks better and gets more reach.
Beyond the legal frame, we just think readers deserve to know what is real and what is not. Sorority content is small enough as a niche that trust matters more than scale.
