Privacy Policy
Last updated July 8, 2026
A·LIST Greek (alistgreek.com) is operated by The Gray Label LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or sign up for our email list, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how to reach us if you want it removed. It is written in plain English on purpose. Where a specific law gives you a right, the policy says so without reciting the statute.
Information we collect
Two categories, no others.
Information you give us directly. Your email address when you sign up for the list. Your name if you include it. The contents of any message you send us through the contact form or by reply email. Any preferences you tell our email system about (interests, topics, frequency).
Information collected automatically when you visit. Your IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, the page you arrived from, the pages you view on the site, and the time you spend on each. This is standard server log and analytics data, collected through Google Analytics and our hosting provider's logs. We do not collect precise geolocation, payment information, or anything you have not given us directly or accessed through a normal browser visit.
How we use it
- To send you the emails you signed up for. Your email address goes into Kit (the email service we use) and stays there until you unsubscribe.
- To respond to messages you send us. Contact form messages route to hopegray@alistgreek.com and stay in that inbox while we reply.
- To understand which content readers actually use. Google Analytics tells us which posts get traffic, where readers come from, and which pages load slowly. Aggregated, not tied to your name.
- To keep the site running and secure. Server logs help us spot scraping, abuse, and broken pages.
- To comply with tax and recordkeeping obligations. Affiliate income records are kept for the period the IRS requires (see Retention below).
We do not sell your information. We do not rent your information. We do not share your email list with other publishers. We do not run third-party advertising banners on the site.
Affiliate disclosure
A·LIST Greek is reader-supported. When you click a product link on this site and buy something, the brand or the retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is the same either way. The commission comes out of the brand's margin, not your wallet.
As an Amazon Associate, A·LIST Greek earns from qualifying purchases. Amazon affiliate links on this site carry the tracking tag alistgreek-20.
We also participate in the following affiliate networks and may earn commissions through links served by them: Awin, CJ Affiliate, Impact Radius, and ShareASale. Some of our links go directly to brand-run partner programs without a network in the middle. Network and brand membership changes over time as programs open and close.
Editorial independence is a hard line. We recommend products we would recommend regardless of commission. We have removed brands from posts after concluding the product did not hold up, even when removal cost us paid placements. We have also recommended brands and products that pay us nothing because they were the right pick.
If you ever want to know whether a specific link is affiliated, email us. We will tell you.
Email and Kit
Our email list runs on Kit (the platform formerly known as ConvertKit). When you sign up through a form on this site, your email address and any name field you fill in are sent to Kit and stored there. Kit handles delivery, list management, and unsubscribe processing on our behalf as a data processor. Kit's own privacy practices are at kit.com/privacy.
There are two kinds of email you can get from us. Transactional messages confirm something you asked for (a download you requested, a confirmation that your signup went through). Marketing messages are the regular notes, product launches, and recommendations we send to the list. Marketing messages carry an unsubscribe link in every email. One click and you are off the list, no questions asked. You can also unsubscribe by replying with the word "unsubscribe" or by emailing us.
We keep your subscription record while you are subscribed and for a short suppression-list window after you unsubscribe (the suppression list is what stops us from accidentally re-mailing you if you sign up and then unsubscribe twice). We do not buy lists. We do not import contacts. Every address on our list got there because someone typed it into a form on this site.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
This site uses cookies for three things and three things only.
- Site functionality. Remembering whether you are logged in (if you are an administrator), whether you have dismissed a notice, and similar housekeeping.
- Google Analytics. Sets cookies in your browser to count unique visitors and track which pages get traffic. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
- Affiliate attribution. When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser so the merchant can attribute your purchase back to A·LIST Greek and credit us a commission. These cookies are set by the network (Amazon, Awin, CJ, Impact, ShareASale, or a brand's direct program), not by us. The networks' own privacy policies govern their use.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also offer a private-browsing mode that does not retain cookies between sessions. Blocking cookies may break some site features (typically nothing readers would miss).
AI-generated imagery
A portion of the images currently on the site were generated by AI tools between July and September 2023, before our internal policy changed. As of June 13, 2026, we no longer use AI-generated imagery for any product, editorial, or illustrative visual on the site, and we are working through every legacy AI image to either replace or label it. Our full AI Image Policy sits on its own page and is the canonical reference.
Children's privacy
This site is written for women in or about to enter sorority life, which generally means readers 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 and you believe your child has submitted information through this site, email hopegray@alistgreek.com and we will delete it.
If you live in the European Union or United Kingdom
You have the right to ask us to show you a copy of any personal information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong, to delete it, to limit what we do with it, to receive it in a portable format, and to object to specific uses. These rights come from the GDPR and the UK GDPR.
To exercise any of them, email hopegray@alistgreek.com from the address we have on file (or include enough information for us to verify it is you). We will respond within 30 days. If we need more time, we will tell you within the first 30 days and explain why.
If your data needs to move between our US-based systems (Kit, Google Analytics, our hosting provider) and the EU or UK, that transfer relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses each of those providers maintains with their EU and UK customers. We do not transfer your data to any provider that does not have an appropriate transfer mechanism in place.
If you live in California
You have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of it. These rights come from the CCPA as amended by the CPRA.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no "Do Not Sell or Share" toggle on this site because there is nothing to opt out of.
To exercise your right to know or right to delete, email hopegray@alistgreek.com. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request (typically by confirming you control the email address we have on file).
You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights. We do not condition access to our content or our email list on your willingness to give up your privacy rights.
How long we keep your information
- Email subscribers in Kit: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression-list window after.
- Google Analytics traffic data: 26 months (the platform's standard retention setting we use).
- Contact form messages and email replies: 12 months from your last reply, unless we are still actively corresponding or a legal matter requires us to keep them longer.
- Affiliate income and payment records: 7 years, the period the IRS expects for business income recordkeeping.
- Server and security logs: 90 days, sometimes longer if we are investigating an incident.
How we protect your information
The site runs over HTTPS. Form submissions and account access run through providers (Kit, our hosting platform, Google) that maintain industry-standard security postures, including encryption in transit and at rest. We do not store credit-card numbers or other payment information on alistgreek.com itself. We have no employees beyond the founder, which keeps the internal access surface small. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and any applicable regulator within the timeframes the relevant law requires.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top changes. Substantive changes (a new third-party service, a new data category, a change in how long we keep something) also get noted at the top of the policy for 30 days after the change goes live. Prior versions are kept on file. If you want to see what the policy said on a specific date, email us.
